Legend of Mana Faerie%: Pokiehl: Dream Teller
This is part of a first-playthrough guide using the Faerie story arc. It covers both the original PSX version and the 2021 HD remaster, though some place and item names differ slightly in the latter. You can find an overview of the Faerie% path here.
The Quick Version
Place the Moon’s Mirror Artifact you received from the last quest. Now that you have completed Mine Your Own Business, the starter event for Ulkan Mines, you can return to tackle story quests that go through this zone. Talk to Pokiehl at the entrance to the mines and follow Escad into the memories of what transpired between him, Irwin, and Matilda years ago.
The Details (May Contain Spoilers)
Pokiehl is waiting at the entrance of the mines. Talk to him and you’ll see a past version of Escad appear in a dream sequence. Follow Escad right, then go lower right to reach the stairs.
Halfway down the stairs you’ll see Pokiehl again. He’ll ask whether you are in a hurry. Say yes and he’ll teleport you further into the past version of the mines. Another scene will play.
When the dialogue finishes, go right, lower right, and then proceed rightward until you get to a room marked Deepest Cavern. A third scene of past events plays out, and you wake up to find (grown-up) Escad in the cavern with you. He asks you to choose between him and Daena. Either choice ultimately concludes the quest, but if you choose Daena you’ll need to fight Escad first.
